This small 20x20cm painting depicts the Malpensa airport at the first light of dawn. The most intense light is in the background, in that light with the presence of blue, which is a prelude to the arrival of day. That intense light that awakens, also creates that play of light and shadow between the two airplanes on the right.
The cadmium yellow line indicates the direction. Of all the lines on the track, I focused only on it just to send a strong signal.
Last week I held an online meeting with some Milan middle school kids, and it was a nice moment because I talked to them about how the “mooring” series was born and how I am living my job in this period. I was struck by a speech of a professor who reflected on the fact that the artist is seen as an useless figure, because it is a job that does not pay and asked: why is art useful? I replied that being an artist is the most beautiful work in the world, because through my paintings I communicate to everyone a chance to see the beauty within this world we live in. I feel a great responsibility for the many people who have my works, I think my paintings can be an actual possibility of companionship.
I believe I have received a great treasure in my hands and this gift that is being an artist is a gift that I want to communicate to everyone and I will always thank my parents who made me take this path from the beginning, without looking at the profit but simply seeing that I was very happy in what I was doing. I will always be grateful to them because they believed in the dream I was living and still living to be an artist. W art and long live the dreamers!
Happy MOnday and good week everyone!
