I made this artwork in 2013, when I had just arrived in Milan. It represents a glimpse of the buildings in Via Larga, with the wires and is a pastel and black bent on paper. My attention was concentrated on the intertwining of the wires that connect the passage of the trams. The turquoise pastel of the sky in its lightness and transparency sweetens the dark tangle of the threads. This initial work of my artistic journey on the city of Milan came to my mind on Friday, when I visited a fair in Verona with another artist, my friend. We said many things, and I brought home a point, when she told me that we must have the courage to dare. If I think about this work and what I was experiencing at that moment, I would say that in the wires I felt the need to dare, to bet on it to see if they could communicate something to me. All the works on Milan that I did later, from the skyline to the Duomo, came from this first dare. Good Monday and good week everyone!
