In these weeks I’m painting with the desire to give you something that can illuminate these strange days, where everything has stopped for the coronavirus. I paint what most excites me, and starting from this feeling I launched myself into this oil on canvas. I depicted the two lighthouses of the Rimini dock which have a precise meaning for me, that is the dialogue between the old and the new lighthouse, which greet each other as they wave the boats for their adventure. I have painted this glimpse of the dock many times, but this in particular surprised me for its lights in the sky that reflect very well the time we are living. That gray with a hint of purple and pink, the ultramarine blue that makes the atmosphere so delicate, firm and that suggests stopping to contemplate the beauty of the colors so full of light. It is a favorable moment in this sense, to really look at that sea in which we are that even if it frightens us together we will cross it.
Happy Monday and good week everyone!
