Last week I did a meeting with some students of eighth grade. The purpose was to tell them about my work and I received a loto of questions, like: “Was it difficult for you to choose high school? How was this passion born? Have you ever had doubts or difficult moments about this choice of life? What is the greatest gratification of your job?”.
The first part of the meeting was a dialogue on these questions, then at a certain point it was time to show them how I paint. I asked them to choose what they wanted me to paint, and by popular demand among the moorings and the wires of Milan, the wires won.
I start throwing the color, using the wiper, the spatula and various tools. It was a very intense moment, in which at a certain point a silence was created in the classroom, which then made room for many questions as soon as I suspended the execution.
The artwork I did is the one you see this Monday (The full title is Wires, 50x70cm, mixed media on paper, 2021): inside the chaos of the jets of water and color stands the presence of the street lamp and the wires, which they give a sense of firmness within the dynamism of the city.
I returned home very happy and rich with this meeting.
Happy Monday and good week everyone!
