I believe that painting is a slow process, in which you must have a lot of patience.
In my studio, I spend a lot of time looking at the work to see if what I have done is worthy to get out of the studio, rather than operating on the canvas.
Yesterday I was at lunch with a friend who plays the piano, who told me that among pianists they said that there are 4 ways to play the piano: with score and with piano, with piano and without score, with score and without piano, and without score or piano. I realized that it’s true for me too: painting is not just when I work with a spatula and colors, it’s also when I look, and I look, and I look again.
In this large format work, 200x230cm, I portrayed a glimpse of the new boathouse in Rimini with the warm colors of the sun. As I look at it, I seem to be there, in the warmth of the sun.
Happy monday and good start of the week to everyone!
