This Monday is special, because exactly five years ago, this weekly Monday column began, on May 4, 2015.
I want to celebrate this beautiful moment with you, and you can find the first Monday at the end of today’s Monday.
The artowork of today, as well as the one of 5 years ago, gives me that sense of daily joy, which I live every time I find myself painting something that I have experienced. In this small 30x15cm work I portrayed Molo 22, which is a fish restaurant that is located in the Rimini pier with the canal harbor around it. Painting in the small format is very difficult because the risk of inserting too much matter, and therefore of weighing down the work, is very high. Finding the right balance between the matter of the pier buildings and the reflections of the water has satisfied me!
This week the moment of live streaming on Facebook and Instagram continues, and on Thursday 7 May at 6.15 pm I will take you to my Rimini, where it all really started and we will see some works from 2006 to 2020.
Happy Monday and good week everyone!
Starting today, every Monday I will publish on my website (and share on my social) one of my artwork or anything that struck me: a reading, a song, an unexpected meeting. Why on Monday? Because on Monday all starts again, for better or for worse, like it or not, but it’s better that way! Up with Monday, and with the life that comes to you anyway.
For this first issue, I present Sunset. I painted it in April, a few weeks ago. It measures 100 × 100 cm and is an oil on canvas.
It represents the dock of Rimini, even if in this case it is not so much the place itself that interests me, but the memory that has aroused me, a sense of daily joy, powerful but at the same time discreet. Like that purple stripe, which emerges without noise, in the center.
Happy Monday and good week to everyone
