In these days seeing empty cities is truly surreal and at the same time suggestive. Therefore, I fished out of my archive one of the very first works that I did just arrived in Milan in 2012. In this work on paper (112x140cm) Piazzale Loreto is depicted as seems to me today. I still remember well the feelings with which I painted it: I was very angry because I couldn’t understand how to portray the city of Milan. It was at that moment that I closed my eyes and launched the color. This work still excites me because it reminds me that my story has never been afraid of changes, which at that time was to change city and life.
I think it’s the same today: the covid-19 has changed our daily lives but not who we are inside, that is, the desire to face our lives with new perspectives.
Happy Monday and good week to all.
