When I need to understand if my work is going in the right direction, I usually ask other people, not only professionals but also people who have a simple thought, which helps me a lot in understanding if what I do is an accessible language everyone. In this painting I depicted the sunset lights on the harbor and I tried to use colors that are as soft as possible and above all not to use too much material, if not in the right places, as in the parts of the architecture.
I feel myself 100% a painter and I really like when I grow on the pictorial level to reach a greater depth in the work. In the life of an artist there is not only the part of the creative act, but there is also the second part: how to make your artworks accessible to the public.
On this topic, a book by Andrea Concas, an expert in the art system, who has a lot to say on this theme and which I find very interesting, said:
<< Becoming an artist means being an “Art Professional”, and especially in the initial stages, when you do not have a multidisciplinary staff, you need to know how to enhance your art through managerial, communication and promotional skills. In the idealized collective imagination, the figure of the bohemian artist, with his innate vocation, beautiful and damned and to whom everything is granted, vices and transgressions is increasingly lacking. Instead, the artist is increasingly asked for professionalism, punctuality, precision, consistency and concreteness in the face of a more demanding market with a wide artistic offer. >>
Happy Monday and good week to all!
