This Monday’s artwork is the Duomo seen from Piazza Fontana: it is the glimpse from which all my work on the Duomo started, in 2012 (at this link, towards the end, you will find my first paintings on the Duomo). It is fascinating when you are there at that intersection of wires, and they take you like a vortex and make you do that exercise of looking up, so at a certain point, in the middle of the tangle, the spire of the Madonnina appears. In these soft colors of the sky there is an aspect of sweetness, which opens and contrasts the purple colors of the city, fast and always in motion. Milan thrives on rapid, sudden movements, I don’t know about you, but I have this feeling in particular when I have to find a parking space :). However, this city life never leaves me indifferent, and the more time passes the more I cling to these ropes that run towards the sky.
Happy Monday and good week everyone!
