In 2019 I made several trips by plane, and consequently I had the opportunity to see the airport structures and take-off and landing runways. Perhaps because of the work on the parking lots, the lines in the runways and the airport environment fascinated me and I started painting them. A friend noticed that, since I started painting airports, something different has taken shape: I go much more towards the observer as communication. In this work, which measures 50x60cm, through that yellow line so subtle and colorful, I was really interested in letting a dynamic element enter the canvas, capable of making the wait for departure or arrival a moment always full of energy. This work in particular is exhibited at the Parma Art Fair at the Zamagni Arte gallery also on 11-12-13 October.
An entire room dedicated to the airports will be at my next solo show, OPEN SPACE!
A few details: the exhibition will be from November 16th to December 8th 2019, at the Civic Art Collections of Palazzo Marliani Cicogna, in Busto Arsizio. The path has been curated by Giuseppe Frangi: each room of the exhibition is an open space in which to immerse yourself, from the lines of the parking lots, to the airports, to the Milan skyline.
You are all invited, especially to the opening, which will be on Saturday 16 November at 18.00.
Happy Monday and good week everyone!
